AT A FARM HOUSE IN FRANCE, A FAMILY OF 5 WAS SHOT DEAD..
Officers investigating the case suspect the father may have shot his wife and three
children in a suspected domestic incident.
A family of five died after being
shot in a suspected domestic incident at a farmhouse in northern France.
The family was found dead by three farm workers at about 8.15am on
Tuesday morning. The victims are a farming couple, both aged 47, and their three
children - two boys and a girl aged 12, 18 and 20.
The
incident took place on a farm near Nouvion-et-Catillon, in the Aisne region in
northern Fran The public prosecutor in the nearby city of Laon said officers
investigating the shooting have ruled nothing out, but currently think the
shooting was a "family tragedy". They suspect the father killed his
family before turning the gun on himself in a suspected suicide.
They
currently have no clues as to what caused his actions as they have not found a
note. The family was discovered when the farm workers became concerned that
their boss had not turned up for work.
The
prosecutor said the first people on the scene attempted to resuscitate two of
the victims but were unsuccessful.
