SAHAR TABAR, ANGELINA JOLIE LOOKALIKE SPEAKS OUT APPARENTLY

It's been a baffling few weeks in the world of celebrity lookalikes, after things took a bizarre turn when photos surfaced of Iranian teenager Sahar Tabar - who's now spoken out about the response to her story. Or has she? 

The story circulating was that Tabar had reportedly had 50 surgeries - and lost a severe amount of weight - in order to look like Angelina Jolie.  The result was extreme, and her appearance got the world talking within no time.  Some compared the 19-year-old more to a Walking Dead extra, or even animated characters like Tim Burton's Corpse Bride or even as Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove - rather than the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider star. And those were the less harsh comments.

But, this being the bemusing age of the internet, where opinions and 'fake news' fly quicker than definitive truth, it wasn't long before people began to question the claims. Following the initial reports, there have been some accusations that the Iranian woman has just craftily used a combination of make-up, prosthetics and her Photoshop skills to produce the photos.

She also posted a video of her looking slightly more natural - however it's unclear if this was taken before her 'transformation'. And the plot's thickened again.  This time, Internet reference website Snopes reports that Tabar has finally spoken out about the controversial photos.  Absolutely fuck knows if the quote's real, but it claims that she has indeed had surgery. It does, however, say that she has not had 50 surgeries, and alludes to the fact that makeup and technology may have been used in the photos.

While most reports on the subject relied on Tabar's official Instagram account, which has amassed 447,000 followers, another Instagram account using Tabar'sname rebuffed the allegations that she had experienced as many as 50 surgeries in a 28 November post". The site links to the post, but it leads to a page from Instagram saying the post is unavailable. It then quotes what the post apparently said:

"Hello relatively dear followers, the picture that you're scrutinising, even though I didn't like it, I kept it in ... I must say I only had [indeterminate number of] surgery, not 50 surgeries, and foreign sites and channels were very biased in the way they talked about my photos.

"I thought these people are probably living in the 18th century and they haven't seen or heard of technology or makeup and they are really surprised."

Then again, that could all be complete bollocks, too. Literally who knows? We are so confused.
